Last week (I know I procrastinated way too long) I ventured out in search of KFC’s Nashville hot chicken. It became a must try as soon as I saw Daym Drop’s hilarious video review. Plus I was craving their mac&cheese (when am I not?). But I just didn’t trust how crispy and glorious his sounded when he bit into it. So this is where I came along. How crispy and delicious is this chicken actually?
Well, first disappointment was that I ordered a mixture of pieces but I was given only tenders. I’ve always been a firm believer in the fact that bone-in chicken has more flavor. And I wasn’t wrong – it probably would have also been more crispy if it had been bone-in, but hey just another reason for me to go back and have it again. Nonetheless, the chicken was greasy and had a punch! I do wish mine had more sauce on it and less of a dry rub. My container didn’t have as much grease on the bottom as Daym Drop’s so I didn’t have any to dip my chicken (or finger) into. One of the best parts was probably the biscuit that had soaked up all my grease. Those should become menu items. Nashville Hot Biscuits have my vote. Also, who can go wrong with pickles?!?
FYI: Save some and eat it for breakfast the next day, you won’t regret it.
Until we eat again…
